Where To Find The Best Cross Bows

What are you into? When I ask this, I mean what do you like to collect or toy with? I think we all have certain hobbies or collection pieces we love to dabble in. For me it is cutlery. I simply cannot have too many custom knives. These are plain and simply what tickle my fancy. It doesn't matter if I use them all or not. I like to possess them, even if it's just to fondle and look at them. Okay, that sounds rather weird. Don't get any bizarre or twisted ideas about me and my knife collection. Anyway, do you know what you enjoy collecting? Is it baseball cards, rare coins, century old firearms, smurf dolls, literature from the dark ages, belt buckles, or cross bows? Wow, now that's a diverse selection right there. So which one applies to you?

Back when I was in junior high school I had a history teacher who loved to collect cross bows and medieval weaponry. I of course didn't think this was bizarre or bad in any way. I thought it was great that he harbored and interest/fascination with medieval times. Hey, who could blame him right? Those were interesting times to say the least. Granted it was a rather dark era, but it is still intriguing to say the least. One day he actually brought his entire collection of cross bows to class. This was awesome! We all got to see how the old-school cross bows really worked. The have a crank on the side of them that pulls the string back before firing. I was flabbergasted at how powerful they are. It made me ponder the notion of actually living back in medieval times. Yikes, that would have sucked. Can you imagine the fighting, mayhem and death? It would have been unreal at times. Men and women were getting slaughtered for all sorts of ridiculous things.

In this day and age cross bows have certainly become obsolete. After all, why would anyone mess with cross bows when firearms are available everywhere. It's all about technology. Now, this is not to say that cross bows have disappeared, because they have not. You can easily still purchase a variety of contemporary cross bows on the World-Wide-Web. Get online now and see what I'm talking about. Maybe you too will be interested in starting a cross bow collection like my old history teacher.
